[New] Shanghai International Commercial Mediation Center

In response to the aim to promote multi-faceted dispute resolution, a one-stop, multi-dimensional system for litigation, arbitration, and mediation in foreign commercial disputes has been established. It is aimed at creating a top-tier business environment that is market-oriented, rule-of-law-based, and internationalized.
The Chamber of International Commerce Shanghai, World Trade Center Association Shanghai, Shanghai International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (Shanghai International Arbitration Center), Shanghai Municipal Enterprise Commission, Shanghai Financial Association, and Shanghai Foreign Investment Association have jointly launched the Shanghai International Commercial Mediation Center (SHICMC).
This is the first mediation organization in Shanghai to be jointly approved by the Judicial Bureau and the Civil Affairs Bureau. The new mediation center’s list of mediators includes 161 mediators from 11 countries and regions. The new mediation rules came into effect on May 20, 2024.
