Experience

• In 2000, Andrew Zhang graduated from Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade with a major in International Economic Law, after which he worked in the Logistics Department of the Shanghai Jinghong Group, and Angela Luo & Co., Lawyers.
• In 2007, Andrew was admitted to Chinese Bar.
• In 2009, he joined A&Z Law Firm.
• In 2011, Andrew obtained a Master’s Degree in Economic Law from East China University of Political Science and Law.
• In 2011, Andrew was promoted to a partner of A&Z Law Firm.

Achievements

Since becoming a practicing attorney in 2006, Andrew has been providing legal services for European and American multinational companies such as Philips in relation to their Chinese investments. In addition, Andrew has worked in complete legal services for Chinese Electronics Corporation’s acquisition of Royal Philip’s global mobile phone services.

Since joining A&Z, Andrew has provided legal services for numerous Japanese logistics companies such as Nippon Express (now known as NX Group), Mitsubishi Logistics, Alps Logistics, and NIPPON STEEL & SUMIKIN LOGISTICS. His specialty also includes M&A and company restructuring. Andrew is committed to providing various legal services including company reorganisation and acquisition in China, to which Japanese multinational companies such as Sumitomo, VALQUA and NIHON DENGYO KOSAKU have been beneficiaries. He also successfully helped a German company regain the actual control of its subsidiary in China, effectively safeguarding the interests of German shareholders.

Furthermore, Andrew has also spearheaded various important projects such as the project of “Providing high-quality information consulting services for foreign investment”  entrusted by Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce and the research project of “Shanghai Medium and Long-term Development Strategy” entrusted by the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.

In recent years, Andrew is committing to research in the emerging fields of data compliance and e-commerce, providing legal services including establishing data compliance systems and e-commerce solutions for many multinational companies, and providing relevant training for employees of these multinational companies.

In addition, Andrew also successfully helped many foreign companies to conduct and win litigation and arbitration in China, safeguarding the legitimate rights and interests of these companies. He also helped Chinese companies to conduct litigation and arbitration abroad and applied for cross-border recognition and enforcement of arbitration award through A&Z’s extensive cooperation partners around the world.
